Job Description The International Relations Program is seeking a student assistant to work 10-15 hours/week in the academic program office housed at the Watson Institute. The student assistant maintains scheduled office hours and works collaboratively with the Associate Director and Academic Program Manager to support daily office operations as determined by supervisor. The student’s responsibilities include the development, editing, and distribution of a weekly eNewsletter, the maintenance of a student database, and creating and filing hard-copy files for all new concentrators. Other duties include filing, answering phones, peer advising, and assisting with events and concentration advisor office hours. The student assistant serves as the liaison to the IR DUG and represents the IR Program as a knowledgeable and engaged IR student.
Job Requirements The applicant must have excellent writing skills as demonstrated with the submission of a writing sample. The applicant must be reliable, demonstrate attention to detail, and be willing to actively and enthusiastically participate in daily office operations. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, gMail, Adobe Acrobat required. Familiarity with MS Access, web publishing, and Photoshop is a plus. Applicant must be an IR concentrator and active member of the DUG. Juniors and seniors are preferred, but all IR concentrators are welcome to apply. Applicants must be available to work 10-15 hours per week and be able to establish a schedule that fits with the activities of the IR program.
