Job Description During the summer athletics offers limited open hours in the Indoor tennis/squash courts. Starting June 1st hours will be M-F 10am-1pm & 6pm-9pm. Looking for one to two student workers who can cover these shifts for the duration of the summer.

This position acts as an ambassador of the Department of Athletics & Recreation to the Brown tennis & squash playing community which consists of Brown students, faculty, staff, alumni, emeritus, athletic coaches, administrators, RISD students & faculty, and the general community population of Rhode Island.

In an average shift the attendant will be asked to:
Answer the phone and record any reservations.
Check in users and confirm their membership affiliation
Work with online reservation system to ensure schedule accuracy.
Enforcing court rules and regulations.
Opening and closing of facility
Assist users with any questions.

There is some down time in this position so it is acceptable for you to do homework, bring a laptop, etc.

In your application please be specific as to what shifts, and how many a week you would be willing to work. Also please note if you'd prefer to work the morning shifts, evening shifts, or if it doesn't matter. Finally, please specify any vacations or extended periods of time you may be away from campus during the summer.
Job Requirements Reliability and punctuality are the most important traits we are looking for. Applicants must have good communication and costumer service skills. Must be comfortable enforcing rules and policies 1 on 1 with users. Computer skills: Including but not limited to Internet searches, word, excel, email communication. Student should be comfortable walking around during shift and walking up flights of stairs.

Start date for this position is 6/1/15. There may be some work opportunities in the month of May as well. There is the possibility that this position could extend into the academic year if applicant desires additional hours.
While it is not a prerequisite for hiring, students who are likely to stay local for university breaks may be given hiring priority.
