Job Description The LGBTQ Center programmers assist the Center Coordinator and student groups in developing programming around LGBTQ+ issues throughout the academic year. The programmers are responsible for planning and implementation of our “Out For Lunch Series,” Bisexuality Celebration Day, National Coming Out Week, Transgender Day of Remembrance and/or Trans Week, Pride Series and other programs as assigned. Both programmers will be responsible for all aspects of program implementation including, but not limited to, booking guest speakers, booking venues, managing contracts, coordinating travel and lodging, fundraising, publicity, collaboration with student groups and program review. In addition to programming responsibilities you will be required to cover office hours within the LGBTQ Center, attend weekly staff meetings and assist with other projects as assigned.
Job Requirements Knowledge of LGBTQ issues; good communication skills both verbal and written; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to build coalitions with diverse communities & develop programs at the intersections of race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, class, and other forms of identity; ability to work independently and manage complex projects is essential.
