Job Description Help establish and maintain strong communications between Brown and its alumni. Tasks may include any of the following: • Track email open and click-through rates • Proofread / copyedit website, email, and other content • Respond to requests to join BAA LinkedIn group • Update text and images on the frequently changing pages of the alumni website (alumni.brown.edu), including the alumni events calendar • Respond to communications preference change requests • Direct general alumni inquiries to the appropriate person • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor(s) In addition, depending on skills, experience, and interests, he/she may be involved in anything from alumni Facebook groups (writing content, locating appropriate photos, etc.) to gathering/analyzing data regarding the success of communications projects.
Job Requirements A successful applicant must be interested in the continuing relationship of alumni with Brown. In addition, he/she must be creative, highly organized, and possess a meticulous attention to detail. He/she must also be able to multi-task, take initiative, and work independently but also to make good use of guidance. Beyond that, specific project-related skills requirements are as follows: •Writing/editing skills •Strong interpersonal communications skills •Excellent attention to checking and correcting his/her own work Helpful additional experience: • Familiarity with Dreamweaver • Familiarity with Photoshop • Familiarity with LinkedIn, Facebook, and/or Instagram • Familiarity with CSS • Familiarity with Web analytics • Working knowledge of HTML Candidates must be able to work 8-10 hours per week during regular business hours and be completely dependable, responsible, and dedicated.
