Job Description Job Description: As a recruiter for the Brown Summer High School program you will update the BSHS brochure, schedule school visits, undertake school visits, register youth, communicate with interested students and parents, and provide regular updates and challenges to the BSHS faculty director. The position begins in mid­February and ends just before graduation. You must be free during the school day. Job Requirements Job Requirements: You must be an MAT student in your academic semester. If the position goes unfilled, MAT student teachers will be considered to complete administrative and/or advisory components of the job, and to recruit in person after student teaching is finished. Recruiters must have their own transportation OR time and willingness to use the bus system. Duties/requirements include: update the BSHS brochure with this year’s information; familiarity with Google Drive; update the website and Google registration form; update a Google presentation to give at area middle and high schools; recruit in person at as many feeder middle and high schools as possible in Providence and the surrounding urban core; recruit through email and mail at other local middle and high schools; manage and respond to email and phone inquiries about BSHS; create new marketing initiatives to attract other potential BSHS students (we recently added a partnership with an organization serving refugee youth and the year before foster youth); begin to register students for BSHS using a Google sheet. Revising the advisory curriculum is also often part of this position.
